AVP Workers Compensation Claims (Dallas)

Responsible for the management of the investigation, litigation, disposition and settlement of all Workers’ Compensation claims. This position will have direct oversight of Workers Compensation Claim Managers and their teams.

Key Functions/Duties of Position: Describe the overall job responsibilities (including any decision-making authority) for this position.

  • Responsible for oversight of recovery operations, fraud operations, loss cost and expense strategy, core ALAE (including litigation strategy and expense, ME, special investigation),ULAE, case management, regulatory issues.

  • Overall management of team member recruitment/hiring/development as well as compliance with service agreements and claim service delivery to targeted accounts.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate plans/workflows are in place to execute team/department initiatives.

  • Analyze and interpret results continuously to ensure plans are validated and modified to meet goals. Forecasting and tracking to ensure efficiency gains while targeting and championing deficiencies in processes for best outcomes.

  • Coordinating with senior management to develop processes to assist with enhancing our service. Ensure execution of business strategies.

  • Work to achieve quality standards and high levels of quality functional expertise throughout the unit.

· Handles other management responsibilities as required by individual business line.

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in business insurance or related field preferred and 5+ years workers compensation management experience.

Qualifications: Include necessary skills/experience and core competencies required

· Proficient understanding of WC Statutory benefits and state regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions.

· Demonstrated ability to learn new workers compensation jurisdictions.

· Ability to obtain Adjuster Licensing in certain required jurisdictions.

· Strong business acumen, analytical and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrates strong written and oral communications skills.

· Ability to draft communications that are clear, concise, complete and professional.

· Negotiation skills mandatory, and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

· Demonstrates organizational skills while working on multiple projects.

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

· Ability to travel as needed and work outside normal work schedule to fulfill responsibilities
